New, future-oriented headquarters in Biel
In order to meet the growing space requirements of the company, Sputnik Engineering constructed a new headquarters in the industrial area of Längfeld in Biel from June 2011 to September 2012. The building unites the production hall, the warehouse, and the offices and can accommodate 500 employees. State-of-the-art workstations with large amounts of daylight, a pleasant indoor climate, and an open office environment create a positive working atmosphere.
On the roof, a photovoltaic plant with an output of 220kW is installed which delivers 200,000kWh of green energy per year. Each visitor can easily see the current output of the plant on a screen in the entrance area of the building.
The building corresponds to the MINERGIE® standard and predominantly consists of timber from the Alps and the Alpine foothills of Switzerland, Austria, and Germany. There is an electrical charging station on the parking lot.
The new construction of the company headquarters has shown that Sputnik Engineering, as a Swiss company, is committed to the Biel location and simultaneously reinforces confidence in the solar energy industry.
